We planted a Japanese red maple tree, about 4-5', tall in May 2010, not doing our research first. It was such a pretty red, but its in direct sun all day and now the leaves are drying up brown and curled, some leaves green, but none red. My online research says they shouldnt be in direct sun. Ive watered it every evening but its been a hot summer in Phila this year.

Will it survive? Any ideas what can be done to bring the color back? or is it hopeless?

Every day in PA might mean roots too wet. Failure of roots will cause top to fail.
