Japanese Painted Ferns

    Hello everybody
    I have a question about painted ferns ......can they be grown indoors or they a plant that needs to get cold and go dormat for the winter.

    A Latin name would help.. then you could google it too :-).

    Try Athyrium niponicum ' Pictum'. Actually quite a hardy deciduous fern. Probably does require the winter rest for long term health. Joe

    yes pictum is in its name........thanks.....winter dormantcy is a must then...dont know much about them .....it`s a really nice looking fern i thought..well keep it all year round
