Why is it that some ***. Maples produce seeds and some don't. Also, Some years if a seed is planted it germinates and grows, other years, no matter what I do, nothing seems to get the seeds to sprout. I tried putting them in a refrigerator for 6 or 7 weeks, soaking in water for a short time, all to no avail. I put last years seeds in a potting medium and they just wont germinate and sprout. They were kept in moss and moisture over winter. I broke several open and found them to be looking viable. Can you explain? Thanks.
