Hi, I have several grown up Japanese maple trees in the back yard of my house ; Do they need any kind of fertilizer? If so, WHAT fertilizer; HOW MUCH? and HOW frequently? I will appreciate your reply/advice. Thanks, Davendra
what kind of maple? are they lanscape trees or wild seedlings from a parent tree? a good "general fertilizer" is 10-10-10. it will provide any nutrients the trees are lacking without being too strong. also if the tree is in need of trace minerals, an application of epsom salts will do. just sprinkle about a half handfull aroud the base of the trunk.
