Hi, Nancy Fiers has a nice list of companion plants for containers with japanese maples on her mountain maples site, but I was curious what combinations you have found to thrive/visually appealing. Specifically I was looking for shade tolerant perennials (zone 5). I have tried a combination of creeping jenny and red dragon which I am hoping will survive because the combination of bright yellow and red looks very nice. As always pics welcome ( I would take pics myself but the red dragon is sans leaf right now)
