Hello everyone, I'm new to this forum and I hope someone can tell what's happening to my new Japanese Maple Gwen's Rose Delight. I Just planted this 5 footer about 2 weeks ago and I noticed peeling bark on some of the branches, and black areas around the trunk on both sides, I've attached a few photo's. Any idea what's going on with this tree is appreciated.
Welcome lauri. If you bought this Acer just 2 weeks ago, I would not even begin to worry what the problem is, I would take it straight back to where ever it was bought, and ask for a full refund or a new healthy tree. 5ft tall Acers do not come cheaply.
