There is a website that provides scholarly and general information on Japanese gardens outside Japan. The site covers Japanese gardens on six continents. The information was compiled by Tokyo University of Agriculture's Professor Makoto Suzuki who is the world's leading expert on the stubject. 海外の日本庭園 From the site about section: "Research about Japanese Gardens outside Japan started in 1990 at Tokyo University of Agriculture. In 2001 the Japanese Institute of Landscape Architecture provided research support and published the book, Japanese Gardens outside of Japan in 2006. In 2012 the Center for International Japanese Garden Studies was founded for academic research on modern Japanese gardens both overseas and in Japan."
