I have a Linden tree that has beetles - I have sprayed it with a contact insecticide and have been told that I should do it again in 7 days and continue thru
August if I see any live beetles. Also told to shake the tree to see if there are any beetles that are alive. I was told to spray the tree in the spring to prevent getting bettles.

Now I am concerned about grubs - I have been told that the beetles lay their eggs in August which produce grubs which can ruin the grass.

I'm a little confused - Please help - Thank you

    Re: Japanese Beetles/Grubs

Here in CT/USA Beetles go underground and lay eggs in July resulting in the larva or grub stage that feeds on roots and emerges the following June as Japanese Beetles that remain in the beetle form feeding on leaves, etc above ground for approx three weeks to start the cycle again.
We use GRUBEX that is applied to the lawn in the spring and destroys the grubs and therefore prevents the hatching into beetles.
