I'm left with white flowers now. These Camellia sasanqua weren't being exactly photogenic - this is 'Apple Blossom' on the left and 'Setsugekka' on the right. In the Winter Garden. Lonicera x purpusii, the first is near if not in the Winter Garden and the other next to the Reception Centre. These tiny flowers are Osmanthus heterophyllus, in the Winter Garden. My favourite flowers (in the Winter Garden - I think I already declared a favourite in the Asian Garden) were these Garrya x issaquahensis 'Glasnevin Wine'. I think I like them at this snaky-looking stage before the flowers open up. On to fruits, starting with yellow, as that's Nadia's theme colour this week. This is Cotoneaster frigidus 'Fructo Luteo'. I'm sorry I can't post any of my habit photos - too much sun! It's a tree with a high sweeping canope. In the Asian Garden. In the Photographs thread on Crataegus x grignonensis, Ron B commented that the fruits are "highly persistent". They're nice and showy too. Winter Garden. Nadia thought we missed seeing the fruits on this Ilex latifolia in the Asian Garden. Nadia has also been waiting to see this Pittosporum subulisepalum in the Asian Garden. I'm sure we've posted photos of the Daphniphyllum macropodum in the Asian Garden, but it was looking particularly nice. This Sorbus megalocarpa in the Asian Garden was new to us. The fruits make up in size for what they lack in colour. So a rewarding day for the start of the year.
