Rather new to living/gardening in the Frozen North (but rather good with plants of So.Calif. and Las Vegas). Kept attractive volunteer 2 years ago. It has thrived, it is becoming a bit of a pest -- but I may work with/around it - if it actually is jasmine. This is my first post and I intend to attach photos of: pruned, growing plant; unopened flower; opened flower; head of flowers going to seed (inside are many black seeds). Propagates easily: bury any small piece. Flower opens white, turns palest pink, then pale lavender. Has _very_ faint fragrance BUT it seems to be same odor as that which wonderfully and heavily perfumes middle-of-night air (@ 10 nights in summer). BTW, tried to dig one up - root is thick, strong...gr-r-r. Can someone ID this little guy?
Thank you to each who posted a reply. I assumed "bouncingbet" was a typo (missing space) but, NO, simply my unlimited ignorance. And, YES, that is exactly what it is. Without your assistance I _never_ would have learned name and habits of this now valued tenant in my garden.
