My Mom has a jade plant which she started from a slip more than 20 years ago. Every year, in June, she takes the plant outside onto the patio in a filtered sun area or shade area. It appears to thrive with the warm air. Lat year we discovered that it had become pot bound so we transferred it into a 5 gallon container. Today we discovered the first bloom it has ever had. Earlier posts on this subject indicate that repotting can bring on flowers. This seems to be the case and we wanted to share our experience.

    From Elysium in Dundarave.

Congratulations! Nice bit of good news.
I am always cheered to hear of senior plants that are healthy, thriving, and well-tended.

    Give us a photo!

I have been propagating Crassulas for decades, after 5 years they should bloom..the example is 18 years old and has bloomed since 1996...I have hundreds of new plants from the mother plant

Beautiful photo - they're certainly a rewarding plant if given conditions they enjoy!
