    Hello!

I have a very small Jade plant (about 4 inches tall) that I got from a friend a couple of weeks ago. I'd like to get it to start branching, but I have a couple of questions. It was repotted about 2 weeks ago, should I wait longer before pinching the top? Also, that part that I pinch off, will it propagate, or do I need to use a more substantial leaf?

Thanks for that and any other advice!

I would go ahead and pinch it. (I believe in general, this will help the plant after being disturbed, since the roots have less of the plant to supply with water and nutrients.)

I usually pinch a significant branch, to get the plant to branch lower. The removed tip roots readily and forms a nice small plant quickly. I've rooted tiny pieces from the tip also, but they take a long time to form a nice size plant.
