    Hello,

I've recently decided to try getting a jackfruit tree to grow from seeds and was wondering if anyone here has any experience with them.

What I've found so far is that they need to be planted within about 5 days from being removed from the fruit and shouldn't be dried. There are also some suggestions about using 25ppm auxin or <500ppm GA to induce germination.

    Has anyone grown these before?

    Thanks in advance.

    Howdy Tegan,
A colleage went to Mexico and brought back some seeds. He gave them to me for propagation. Since he wanted only one plant, I seeded four seeds and boiled the rest for snacks. All the four seeds germinated without any seed treatment. You are correct in that the seeds must never be allowed to dry up. My colleage had the seeds wrapped in moist paper for two weeks before he gave them to me.
    Peace

    Great, thanks.
Well I've got about a dozen seeds, so i'll just stick them all in some dirt and see which one wins the race.

    Regards,
