Yesterday my boys and i went fishing near a creek here in philadelphia. I think we came in contact with one of the posion plants, sumac is my guess but im not sure. Can someone ID these pictures im going to attach. Thanks it will take a load on my mind. It was growing on the bank of the creek here in Pennypack Park. I dont think its oak because of the leaves and dont think its Ivy cause of the leaves also but....
Not poisonous. Looks like an elm to me. Definitely not poison ivy or sumac. I don't think you have poison oak in PA.
from what I was reading sumac is not prevalent in this area but it was growing near a creek and the roots to go down into the area where the water could be running underneath. I didn't think they were ok because of the leaves and I didn't think it was IV because it is in the tree form. my 1 son was a nervous wreck because he knows since I have caught poison ivy in the past the results could be very thanks for having a look and if anybody else we could contribute it would be appreciated
Those "poison plants" have compound leaves. You should be able to rule out anything with simple leaves like this, where the single leaves just alternate on the branch. Look up "compound leaves" if you're not clear what that looks like.
