Hello everyone! Today I bought a rose for the garden and it is in a plastic vase/cup. However once I got home I've noticed that there's another plant in the vase/cup besides the rose and it looks really weird to me and I could not identify it so I came here to ask you guys for some help :) The leaves are really small, just a bit larger than a thumbnail, and they feel sort of slimy on touch. They also have those strange things on them that you can see in the photo down below. I need your help to identify this plant and I thank you guys in advance :) Here's a link to a photo of the plant: http://i57.tinypic.com/30ca8ll.jpg
That's a liverwort, a non-flowering plant. They can be a bit of a nuisance in moist gardens, greenhouses and potted plants. Not generally a big deal. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marchantiophyta
That's it! Thank you! I've read about it and it seems that it's pretty common.. I don't know how I've never stumbled upon one of these before, or maybe I've just never noticed them. Anyway, thank you once again and have a nice day! :)
