Identification: It's green, it's happy, but what is it?

I received this plant from a friend who had it for about 15 years. She tells me it flowers, but it was very root-bound when I got it. After repotting it, it started hundreds of new little shoots, and I'm dying to see what type of flowers would come from a houseplant/tree like this? Anyone? Thanx!!

 

The leaves remind me of oleandar but it doesn't look bushy/leafy enough...
