Its color is violet - What is it ?? Thanks!

    Greeting all,

    I've attached a photo of a fairly common flower. I typically see it in July here in the Washington State western Cascades. I took this photo of the flowers on Mt. Dickerman in July.

    It has five petals with a yellowish center.

    I've done some research but cannot find this exact flower. I'm sure once I know the name my research will be more rewarding.

    Can anyone name it. Thanks.

    Actually it is Phlox diffusa - Spreading Phlox rather than Creeping Phlox
