I have a pine growing on the headland, here on Skye; it has developed thin white crumbly fungus at the base of the trunk, causing some pieces of bark to fall off. There are no signs of beetle, I need to identify the fungus and find a treatment for it.

Is the foliage healthy? If yes, likely no need to do anything, the fungus may well be harmless.
