hi, I am new to gardening and this forum.

I have looked at some books and internet sites but keep getting confusing information. What is the best way to prune an italian plum tree grown in an umbrella shape? The best information that I can find says to cut growth that doesn't have fruit set to 6 buds.

    Any information would be appreciated.
