it looks like mentha????

    It's not Mentha, but if it smells like it it's Clinopodium Nepeta.

    So that is not mentha.

    It might be something in Salvia. What are the leaves like at the base, are the stems square, is it covered with fine hairs, do you notice bees and butterflies checking it out? It does look rather like a mint, or a salvia, but Stachys is also related.
