These photographs I took just a few days ago at an elevation of 800 m. The plant was exposed to direct sunshine for most of the day. I believe it is a Scabiosa columbaria, even though the base leaves of this specimen are not completely similar to those of other specimens in my archive. Knowing that these species can be extremely variable, I therefore settled for sp. columbaria.
