Is this Sassafras?

    I've seen what I believe to be sassafras, but I didn't know there could be 5 lobes. I usually only see 3.

    Nothing else there like it. Leaf shapes variable.

    Yup. I'll second the ID - the leaves on that plant are hugely variable across individuals.

    By the way, because I'm new here (at least in post counts), am I following proper ettiquette by posting such ID questions here? I do research as best I can before posting, but I certainly don't want to wear out my welcome.
