I am uncertain about the genus and species of this Malvaceae. I am more drawn to Malva moscata. Included in the photographs are the seeds. The plant was found growing at the side of the road at a quota of 2730 ft. Photographs were taken during the month of August of 2012. Geographical zone. Surrounding provinces of Naples, Italy. Most grateful for an opinion. duffy
I'd still wait for someone else to reply, since I don't get many IDs right, but to me, it looks like a hollyhock, maybe something like this Alcea dissecta http://www.flowersinisrael.com/Alceadissecta_page.htm
That's a plant I recognise! Many years ago a piece was given to my mom and it spread! Id always assumed it to be a Mallow (Malvus). The leaves are a little like Pelargonium and it spreads like wildfire!
I have revised the probable species name to thuringiaca ie.: Lavatera thuringiaca? All help appreciated
Re:Revised. Lavatera thuringiaca ? After giving some thought whether this species is olbia or thuringiaca, I have come to the conclusion that it is more likely to be thuringiaca. However, I am not 100% sure. If any member can help I will be extremely pleased.
