Is this Musk Thistle?

    I have been told that this is a some type of thistle; however, they are unable to tell me what type. This photograph was taken in south central Georgia, USA, during mid April. The closest image match that I have found is musk thistle... Any help from you pros would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Many different plants called Thistle. Have you tried Cirsium vulgare. Common name Spear Thistle?
