This annual sprouts up every year in my MN vegetable garden without my help. It looks edible.

    Anyone know what it is?

    Thanks!

It's a brassica in any case; try a nib of leaf - the flavour will help you determine exactly which one. Baby kohlrabi look very similar, as do bok choy and suy bok.

It's definitely looks like the pictures of all those. I've never eaten any of them, so I wouldn't know which is which.

Anyway, I had planted eggplants there, but they were wiped out by a hailstorm, so I guess I'll let them grow and eat them. I do remember, when they first came up, they looked almost just like broccoli seedlings. And wikipedia says broccoli is a "Brassica oleracea" too. It all fits.
