Identification: is this fungus help please

    we had a mint problem so we pulled it all out and found this all around the bottom of the tree and the tree seems to be having problems should i dig it all out or take out the tree and is it safe thank you

    They look like stinkhorns... Do you have a clearer picture?

    Looks more like dead man's fingers to me, as well.
