I keyed this out to Artemisia, but I can't seem to place it in any species of Artemisia that lives around here (Tucson, Arizona). It was found at about 750 meters in elevation by the Santa Cruz River.

    1. Papus none
    2. About 12-16 flowers per head, hermaphrodite
    3. Receptacle not chaffy
    4. Achenes plump
    5. Phyllaries green
    6. Shrub about 1 meter tall

Is this Artemisia or is it something else?

Bingo. My mistake is the heads are unisexual. I was off at the first step in the key. Thanks.
