I just noticed today, but there is this small plant sprout growing out of one of the closed flaps (or whatever they are called, sorry) on my majesty palm's trunk.
The leaves on this sprout look somewhat like those of the palm it'self, with the same flat look and narrow shape. The sprout is currently closed up, but I will snap some pictures when it opens.
Do you guys think this could be another palm?

Could be... Not likely to be the majesty, as I don't recall them coppicing, but if you have any other palms anywhere within a mile or so, you'd be amazed at where local birds will drop little presents...

I think it might be another palm frond. Most of the other fronds are growing out of the trunk.

awww, the sprout is now hanging down, and it never opened up again. :(
Is this the end for the sprout? It looks healthy.

If the little frond is yellow, it won't go back to green again i'm afraid. You might as well snip it off.

The new fron has a whitish, sensetive trunk, that used to be sticking up, but it's leaves closed up overnight for some reason, and now it is hanging down.

Seriously, post a picture, otherwise we're just kind of guessing at what we imagine it might look like.
