Is this an Orchid or a Lily or What?

    This is a vine that "voluntarily" appeared in one of our pots outside. Last summer it had one bloom, but this year it looks like it will have several. It died off over the winter and we thought we would never see it again, but it's bavck and as beautiful as ever. I would appreciate knowing the name of it....Thanks

    its a lily... climbing lily

    Looks like a cultivar of Gloriosa superba, Glory Lily. Possibly G. s. 'Rothschildiana'. (Syn. Gloriosa rothschildiana)

    More specifically, in the genus Gloriosa (i.e., not a true lily). Link to NC State Univ. Extension.
