Is this a yucca plant? In Minnesota?

    We have lived in this house for 6 years and this plant just bloomed for the first time. My mother-in-law says it is a yucca plant, but that seems odd to me considering we live in Minnesota. Can anyone help identify it? Please note that the plant is surrounded by lilies, and their greenery and buds shows up in the photo. There is definitely a darker green leaf close to the ground that is specific to this plant, although it is hard to see it in the photo given the surrounding foilage.

    Yes, Yucca. Some of the species are very hardy.

    Looks like weak-leaved yucca, Yucca flaccida, which probably occurs in your area.
