Is this a vegetable or weed?

    three feet in height, single stalk, yellow flowers with upright pods developing. I don't know what it is. I have attached picture.

    It's not any vegetable that I'm aware of, but I certainly don't know them all. :)

    Abutilon theophrasti. Usually considered a weed.

    Thanks Mike, I will rip it out, and maybe try eating a seed or too, as apparently in China they eat the seeds.
