Hello All, I have adopted a new plant, the owner had it for 15 years and doesn't know what type of plant it is. I call the plant Moffatt and he has some brown leaf tips (can I cut these off?) and some yellow spots on the leaves (from overwatering?). I'd like to know what it is and if there is a way I can bring out some luster in Moffett, he is beautiful and i'd like to take proper care of him.
The slight spotting may be due to fluorine in the water: Growing Indoor Plants with Success | UGA Cooperative Extension. The dry areas may be due to physical damage.
Interesting! Thank you very much for your help with this :-) I'm also hoping to re-pot it to give it some extra room, so hard to find good affordable pots these days!
