Is this a problem?.. curly Dogwood leaves

    My friend moved into a new home last year and in the garden is a dogwood tree.. about 12-15 feet tall.
    I saw it today and as you can see on the attached photo, the leaves are curly. Bright green, no brown patches. The new growth that you can see near the rear of the photo is pinky. There were only 2 or 3 blooms way up at the top.. they looked quite large.
    We are in Nanaimo and it has been quite dry but nothing else in the garden looked dried out.

    Not sure, I will point out that they are curling up rather than downwards.
