Is this a Night-Blooming Cereus Cactus

    It is a gift..I can't identfy it..Can it be a Night-Blooming Cereus Cactus?

    It's a monstrose form of Cereus; monstrose forms often don't flower.

    well, didn't want to make you go "off" your plant! This one has an interesting form that gets even more odd-ball with time. Mine is in a 6" pot and I can't think of how it could add one more bump, but it always does. Bet it grows on you!

    There are several plants that are called Night Blooming Cereus, one is Epiphyllum oxypetalum, another is Hylocerus undulatus. Both, and to my knowledge all, of the plants known as the Night Blooming Cereus are epiphytic or jungle plants which climb trees or live in them.

    All night blooming cactus have been called "night blooming cereus" by someone or another at some time or another. That includes many arborescent desert species and even tuberous desert species as well as vining and epiphytic species.
