Is this a kind of clover?

    Is this a kind of clover? The plants are common here where I live in Southeast BC.

    This is almost certainly yellow clover (Trifolium aureum). The only very similar species in B.C. seems to be Trifolium campestre which has leaves in which the middle leaflet has a distinctly longer stalk than the other two leaflets. In this case all of these stalks appear to be very short.
