I spotted this odd semi-translucent white growth while backpacking in Northern Michigan along the Manistee River. They were growing on their own and with other mosses/plants. Cant seem to ID it from any plant or fungi resource. Anyone with an answer?

Thanks for the reply. Is there anything special about these plants?

Besides that they have no color, don't need sunlight to grow, survive as a parasite on fungi................
