I'm working a summer position as an environmental technician for a small organization in central/northern ontario.

I keep coming across this plant, and am unsure if it is a fly honeysuckle (Lonicera canadensis)

    can anyone confirm this?

Yes, using Shrubs of Ontario as a guide, that's a good match. Their "Field Check" description:

No other Lonicera in the book has the similarly divergent fruits.
