    Hi all,
We are new here and are wondering if you may help us identify this plant we were given. It seems to share a lot of similarities with musa basjoo and other bananas but i'm not 100%- can anyone shed any light on it?
Thank you for your time and effort!

Looks like White Butterflies, Hedychium coronarium. Of course, flowers will confirm what it is, as it could also be Alpinia zerumbet.

Considering the locale I'd expect it to be one of the more hardy orange or yellowish ones. Also considering the locale with only the one stem coming on plant may not be doing well enough to flower - at least so far.
