I finally got some raised beds through the services of Backyard . And i am trying to grow tomatoes but they aren’t really growing. I noticed tomatoes are splitting in the middle of growing season. Is there any remedies of preventing splitting of tomatoes ? Tomatoes splitting in the middle of growing season?

Splitting of tomatoes is always associated with water issues. Sudden influx of water and bright sun is the usual scenario. Sometimes no control is possible like a sudden rain storm then immediate heat from the Sun. But in general reduce sudden changes in moisture levels. Mulching the bed helps. If watering, limit sudden changes from dry to severely wet. They spitting phenomena is more prevalent with the small cherry type tomatoes.

My solution is to mulch heavily and water only about every five days. The soil is always damp to the touch, but certainly not wet. seldom do I have splitting, except for the cherry types which is caused by nature.

As an aside splitting of cherries can be devastating. A few days of rain and then a hot sun can split every cherry in an orchard.

First of all grow your Tomatoes in the ground. Trying to grow them in a structure as shown on your photo can be very challenging. It is too late to plant them now, but definitely do it next year, you will see the difference.
