I purchased a house 6 years ago that had a Myer tree planted in ground. The tree survived Hurricane Katrina (almost 5 years ago), and just last year provided an over abundance of lemons. after I removed the hundreds of lemons, I pruned the tree. It started showing new sprouts, but we had a few cold snaps winter here in New Orleans, and it killed the new growth. Now all the bark is starting to fall off of the tree. My Orange tree has new sprouts, but not the Lemon tree. Is my Lemon tree dead? What signs should I be looking for? Is there something I can do to save it?

Watchful waiting is the best you can do, though you may remove any clearly dead
limbs. It may re-sprout from the roots or lower trunk.
