.....or is it a genetic mutant?

    I saw this posting

    http://www.botanicalgarden.ubc.ca/forums/showthread.php?t=22387

regarding a 7 foot high mango.....the first I knew that I had a problem with my mango, also 8 years old and no more that 12 inches high.

    Is it a mutant?

It also has interveinal chlorosis, which is probably from it standing in 1" of water.

I am repotting it this spring and not leaving it in water, so any comments on what to use to repot would be appreciated.

The fact that it's standing in water is the whole problem. Mangoes can absorb fantastic amounts of water, but they can't have wet feet - it stunts them and makes them chlorotic. So you will be solving both of your problems by repotting it.

I'd suggest planting into a loose, freely draining mix, at least 50% shredded coir (or peat, but coir is better). An unglazed terracotta pot with drainage holes in the bottom is probably a good idea, as well.

Many thanks Lorax. I should have asked the question years ago....:-)

It is grown from a store bought fruit, so I guess it could be a dwarf variety.....but not that "dwarf".
