PLEASE HELP!! We have a Blue Spruce which is about 15 years old. Have never had any problems with it until January of this year. The needles started turning brown and it appears to be dying!! Is it diseased?? What can be done to save it?? Any help would be appreciated. Soil has a high clay content...but other evergreens are thriving on the property. There has been no salt put on driveway near the tree. Thank you.
I am having the same issues 3 of 7 have the same condition. My sister told me that is from low water over the winter and that you must pour the water to them. I am trying it now, can't hurt at all.
Thank you for your info. At this point we will try anything, however, seeing as we are still hitting freezing point during both day/night I don't know if watering is wise. Also, the confusing part is, we received a tonne of snow this year and this is the only tree that appears to be dying. Any additional help/ideas would be great!! PLEASE HELP!!
we have a high wind area which I contribute to some drying, How about your area? Mine have no salt issues and were transplanted after a fire and this is their 3rd season, so I dont see this being a stress issue. mine are between 15 to 18 feet, there are a few in the forest around us with the same look and that gives me hope I have turned on my system to add more water, and cross my fingers. I also notice quite a few threads on this subject and went back 3 years only to find that this is the only year with complaints so maybe it is natural and they will outgrow it. Have you checked for bugs? I am not sure how and all my trees have nests in now...........dont want to disturb but will if I need to. burlap? just popped into my mind.
