I find this forum very helpful. I have this plant which blooms every year during the spring. It has grass like soft foliage (approx 1/8 wide), flowers are about one inch in diameter. It has been blooming past ten years and apears to be hardy in my zone 6 (Niagara Region). Any help appreciated. Thank you.

Yes, Ornithogalum umbellatum. Its a nasty weedy bulb that spreads quickly.

I wouldn't say nasty but weedy YES. It does spread a lot and quickly but since it is a spring bulb it doesn't really interfere with the other garden plants that much.

I find that if I toss out any bulbs that I unearth during normal weeding during the year I can keep it pretty much under control

Thanks for the info. strangely, mine didnt spread much. Its located under a pine tree and blooms every year. I dont know how long its been there as it came with the house. Last year, size of the clump was 8-10" wide. Right now its under 3 feet of snow!!!
