What's the name of the tree? Is the fruit wearable? Thanks

I'm thinking this may be Chaenomeles speciosa (Flowering Quince)
If so, the fruits are normally considered inedible right off of the tree due to their being hard and bitter; however, they may be used to create preserves and jellies.

I cannot tell from your photo if this may possibly be true Quince- Cydonia oblonga - which you can read more about on several websites including Quince - Wikipedia

Hopefully, other, more knowledgeable people will weigh in on the identity of your tree.

Agree with Chaenomeles. As mentioned, the fruit is edible when cooked; it is nowhere near ripe yet though, wait until it is orangey-brown in October or November.

Would this six-foot height tree be “ornamental quince” ? How can I distinguish it with “flowering quince” ?

    Chaenomeles speciosa: 1.5 to 3 m
    C. x superba: 1 to 3 m

    Ornamental quince = flowering quince
