Could someone please shed some light on this bonsai conundrum?
I have been all over the net and I cannot find any info on what this could be.
In china, the locals call this species "Huang Yin". But i cant seem to find any info about it, and a correct translation is seemingly impossible.
Some help would be greatly appreciated.

maybe i found out the answer

Apparently its a Japanese variety of Maple tree.

I just got an email back from a chinese friend who says that my original tree is called "Acer palmatum" with 'dissectum' leaf.
    Heard about it before?
Also he told me that it will turn red colour in the fall.
and grow some kind of flower.
    Ill keep you updated....

Sorry, don't know what it is, but it is not a maple; the leaf petiole is grooved in a way that maple leaves never are.
