is it a beech?

    Hi everyone I need a branch of a tree for my cockatoo but many kinds of trees are toxic for them so im wondering if anyone can help me out and tell me if this is a beech tree which I think it is but im not completly sure or what kind of a tree it is? thanks a lot for ur help!

    Not a beech. Looks most like a purple cherry or plum, though not 100% certain; the wood of these is potentially risky as it contains cyanogens.

    oh man, thanks alot, then i gotta get a dif branch... this one has tiny red round fruits but dont look like cherries or plums............

    oh and this one doesnt have pink flowers, actually i havent seen flowers on it ever........?

    Mine flowers quite profusely in early spring . I am in Zone 5a - maybe in Alberta , the flower buds are getting killed by the much colder winters ?

    Leaves and branches say purpleleaf chokecherry to me.
