    Hi!

I bought this Osakazuki last autumn and repotted in november. The tree overally looks fine but there is this weird discoloration on the leaves, especially on the new ones on top of the tree. Is this iron chlorosis or something else?

    Thank you!

It is not an iron problem. Many maples leaf out with colored leaves or leaf edges and they gradually turn green. looks you might have gotten an Osakazuki Rubrum, which has much more red than normal. My Osakazuki has new growth that is tinged with red, just not as much as yours.

Thanks for the reply, good to know that is an O. Rubrum. But I'm worried about the light yellow/green colors between the darker green leaf veins.

Does look like a possible nutrient deficiency. Could even be a manganese deficiency, particularly if the soil PH is high (above 7.5). If the soil PH is ok, try feeding at half-strength with a liquid feed that contains all the micro-nutrients.
