I've only lived in my new house for 2 and a half months. We have a lot of irises, but had only two or three blossoms. Otherwise just the leaves.

Could this be from overcrowding? Is this the time to break them up?

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

Could be overcrowding, but may be due to maturing of the tree canopy providing shade. Irises will usually still flower somewhat more than your bed when crowded. They need to have sun to do well, and intermittent sun/shade just isn't enough.

Are the leaves healthy? And, how crowded IS your bed?

Yes, the leaves are healthy -- very, in fact. In some spots the irises are quite packed.

And there is a lot of shade, so perhaps that is the issue.

Yes, sounds like thanrose is correct in her diagnosis.
