There are probably thousands of gladiolus cultivars. Probably not as bad as looking for an iris, daylily or hosta, but...
If one that is prevalent on the market at the moment may actually pop up in Google Images. Keep in mind, however, that with highly popular plants represented by numerous cultivars similar but independent introductions are prevalent. A plant may look quite like 'Bud's Marvel' but have nothing to do with it at all, other than being another gladiolus, daylily or hosta (possibly the worst of these for seemingly redundant introductions).
I don't know where it come from to be honest. I used to have an Iris there and when I re did the pond it dissapeared, thats why I thought Iris, but when the flowers come I thought maybe not... Thanks Ed
If it really is the same exact one. I'd want to compare a sample of mine with a known bona fide living example of the other before embracing the name.
