Found in the extreme NW Missouri in a park. A wildlife person and myself sat in front of a computer for a bit trying to ID these. There was only a small patch growing among wild black/raspberries. They're 'petite', only about 2 inches across. The leaves grow like my iris do which is why I'm wondering if that's what they are rather then a type of tiger lily? Such a vibrant color, from a distance they looked like one of the red trumpet creapers that grow here also. Any ideas would be great...they're just beautiful!
Looks like Belamcanda chinensis. Common name Leopard lily. http://images.google.com/images?hl=...amcanda+chinensis&btnG=Search+images&aq=f&oq= http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Belamcanda_chinensis
